The TAZ offers two daily tours (four-person minimum), seven days a week.

• Morning Tour: 8:30am to 12:00pm
• Afternoon Tour: 12:30pm to 4:00pm

Please Note: You can take the afternoon tour and still have plenty of time to catch the evening Alaska Airlines flight to Juneau.

We offer morning and afternoon excursions into Southeast Alaska's fabulous Humpback whale feeding grounds. Icy Strait and Point Adolphus (near Glacier Bay), are world-famous for the gathering of these gentle giants. Their unique feeding techniques, vocalizations and acrobatics make every tour unforgettable. Join us for an opportunity to see humpback whales, orcas (killer whales), Stellar sea lions, sea otters, Dall porpoises, harbor porpoises, bald eagles, puffins, and a wide variety of other shore birds.

We supply nearly everything necessary for your whale-watching adventure. You'll need to bring warm clothes (including raingear) and a few personal items. We supply:

• motorized boat
• emergency life raft
• life jackets
• emergency communications radio
• signaling equipment
• first aid equipment
• binoculars

And of course, we also provide:

• an ample supply of coffee and hot chocolate
• a variety of snack bars
• field guide books
• biodegradable soap, toilet paper
  

What You Should Bring

While some of the items in this list are optional, others are essential for your comfort and safety. You should bring a small daypack or camera backpack for your camera and personal items.

Clothing

Be sure to bring enough warm clothes. Thermal underwear is highly recommended. Dress in layers for maximum flexibility. Bring an extra layer you do not really think you will need.

  Rain Gear. Essential. On many days, you'll need good raingear. Thin, coated-nylon rain gear is inexpensive.

  Warm Hat. Essential. Should be wool or synthetic and cover your ears (not a baseball hat).

  Sweater or Fleece Jacket. Essential. This is your insulation layer. If you tend to be cold, you should bring two or more additional insulation layers.

  Warm Pants. Essential. A synthetic pair like Polartec™ or Synchilla™. They don't absorb much water, are warm when wet, and dry quickly. Bring an extra pair, just in case.

  Long Underwear. Essential. Polypropylene or smart wool – not cotton.

  Wool Socks. Essential. The warmth, cushion, and absorbency of thick wool (or wool/silk/polypropylene blend) socks is important. There is nothing worse than cold feet.

  Gloves. Optional. Lightweight fleece gloves work well..

Equipment

Over the years, we've found this to be a handly list, but bring along whatever you like.

  Day Pack. A small day pack is great for keeping things close by. To keep things dry, consider lining it with a small plastic bag.

  Dry Bag. A small dry bag will keep your expensive equipment protected from the rain.

  Sunglasses. Polarized sunglasses allow you to see into the water.

  Camera. Be sure to bring your camera, a telephoto lens and wide angle lens, plus lots of memory cards and extra batteries.

  Binoculars. For wildlife viewing. We have a supply of binoculars onboard.

  Medications. Please bring an adequate supply of any medications you depend on, and let us know if you are taking subscription medications.

• Reservations are required
• Cancellations made 8 days or more prior to departure – full refund / no charge
• Cancellations made 7 days or less prior to departure – no refund / invoiced for full fare

Cancellation Policy for Charters

• Reservations are required – 50% deposit required
• Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to departure – full refund of deposit.
• Cancellations made 8 to 30 days prior to departure – no refund of deposit.
• Cancellations made 7 days or less prior to departure – invoiced for full charter price.
